Raw Almonds

SweatTheStyle_AlmondsRaw Almonds are a great source of protein, vitamin E, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. Because they contain healthy fats they keep you full longer. They’re great for your skin, hair, and nails. I usually carry a handful of raw almonds in my bag to snack on in between meals, as well as when I travel. It’s better to stick to raw almonds rather than roasted because they’re more nutritious and have not been salted or cooked in oil.

Orange

SweatTheStyle_Orange_FoodOranges aren’t only fresh, juicy, and tasty but they’re also extremely good for you! One orange contains 116.2% of the daily value of vitamin C and although they’re acidic they contain many alkaline minerals that balance out the body. Their orange colour indicates that they’re also high in Vitamin A which means that they keep your eyes healthy and strong. They’re also full of beta-carotene which is a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from damage and prevents the signs of aging.

Go Raw Bar

SweatTheStyle_WangBomber_GoRaw Go Raw Bars are an easy way to incorporate raw food into your diet. They’re made of sprouted organic buckwheat groats, sprouted organic flax, sesame seeds, organic raisins, and dates. They’re crunchy, chewy, and sweet, as well as gluten-free and organic. I keep a bar like this on me when I’m going raw and don’t have access to a meal made with fresh whole fruits or veggies. Don’t let the name misguide you, you don’t have to be on a raw food diet to enjoy Go Raw Bars.

ShaSha Co. SNAPS

SweatTheStyle_AirMax90_GingerSnapsSince I love to snack I always make a habit of finding snacks that taste good and are healthy. ShaSha Co. snap cookies are all-natural and made with whole grain flour. These snaps are naturally low in fat, sugar and contain a good source of fibre. They have also been made to contain a non-traditional probiotic that can easily survive in baked goods. Theses snaps will aid the digestive system to fight infections, boost the immune system, and produce enzymes that easily digest foods. They come in a variety of flavors and even have gluten-free options. Just be careful because they are extremely addictive. Oh snap!

BLK WATER

SWEATTHESTYLE_BLKWATERIt looks cool to carry around but the colour serves as function more than fashion. What makes Blk water black is the fulvic trace minerals added to the water. It contains electrolytes which you naturally lose while you sweat. Not having enough electrolytes is one of the causes of muscle cramps. Its high level of alkaline helps balance out acidity in your body. I’ll usually drink this after a particularly sweaty workout as a sports drink.

GET CRACKING

SWEATTHESTYLE_PISTASHIOS_FOODIt takes about 20 minutes for your stomach to send a message to your brain telling it that it’s full. That’s why eating too fast often leads to weight gain because you’ll overeat without even knowing it until it’s too late and you’re stuffed. Wonderful Pistachios with their shells on are a great snack because having to de-shell them slows you down allowing your brain to catch up to your stomach. They also taste great and are full of antioxidants, vitamins, protein, and fiber.
