Sip N’ Soak

AdrianneHo_PoloSportBeachSoaking in the sun at the beach is the perfect way to spend a hot Summer day. However, you can easily become dehydrated. Proper hydration becomes even more important when engaging in physical activity in high temperatures. The more your body sweats under these conditions, the more fluid you will need to replace. When working out in hot temperatures your body can lose up to 2 to 3 liters of water an hour!

Dehydration can not only effect muscle reaction time but you can also experience dizziness, cramping, and loss of mental focus. During dehydration your body tissues will heal slower and your muscles will take longer to recover from a workout. The easiest way to remember to stay hydrated is to invest in a reusable water bottle you can always keep handy! You can refill the bottle as often as you need to and even infuse the water with your favorite fruits and veggies ranging from lemons, to berries to cucumbers! This allows you to enjoy all the delicious flavored water you want all summer long, without the added calories from other sweet drinks! 🙂

Juice Served Here Alka-Mizu

AdrianneHo_JohnFrieda_Leather-3AdrianneHo_JohnFrieda_Leather-5What’s all the fuss about alkaline…
SweatTheStyle_JuiceServedHere_AlkaMizuBy now many of us have heard of alkaline water. Some say it can help slow the aging process, regulate your body’s pH level, and prevent chronic diseases like cancer. But what exactly is alkaline water, and why all the hype?

Alkaline water helps balance the body’s pH, which tends to be acidic because of our high acid food diet, stress and exposure to environmental toxins such as smog. It’s also an amazing way to stay hydrated and energized! Alkaline water is also rich in alkalizing compounds, including calcium, silica, potassium, magnesium, and bicarbonate. This water can also act as an antioxidant, finding harmful free radicals and neutralizing them. Wanna give it a try? Grab a bottle of one of our favs from Juice Served Here to see the benefits it can bring to your everyday life!

Winter Water

AdrianneHo_SupremeUndefeated_2Being prepared during the cold winter months means more than just adding layers to your wardrobe; it means increasing the amount of fluids you’re drinking daily. That’s because the air outside becomes much drier when the temperature drops and winds increase. To make matters worse indoor heating sucks moisture out of the air inside. So to avoid dehydration increase your daily amount of water consumption to stay hydrated all year around.

Smart Water

AdrianneHo_BlueTechPack_13Every time you sweat you expend water from your body. That’s why it’s so important to rehydrate after a workout and properly hydrate throughout the day. A good way to calculate how much water to drink is the following…

You need a half ounce of fluid per day for every pound of body weight.
Divide that number by 8 to get that number in cups.
For example if you weigh 120lbs, you need to drink 60 oz. of fluid, which is 7.5 cups for the day.

Now that’s called smart water!

Stay Hydrated

SweatTheStyle_RachelleGoulding_6SweatTheStyle_RachelleGoulding_5

Staying hydrated is essential for beautiful skin, good health, and endurance during workouts. How much you need to drink depends on age, gender, height, weight, exercise intensity, and duration. Most doctors recommend drinking roughly 2 litres a day and they say by the time someone feels thirsty they are already dehydrated. Avoid this by staying hydrated throughout the day and by bringing a water bottle on long hikes, drives, or bike rides when access is limited.

Nalgene Water Bottles

SweatTheStyle_SupremeWaterBottle#HoKnows keeping a full bottle of water around is a great way to remember to keep drinking and stay hydrated. Dehydration can cause overeating, lack of energy, and toxins to build up in the body.

Nalgene water bottles are BPA-free and are made of Eastman Tritan (a plastic material that’s safe to store food and water in). They’re built sturdy enough to throw in the dishwasher or to clip onto a bike. They’re made to hold both cold and warm water. The mouth is wide enough to add ice cubes, smoothies, or frozen fruit. Stay hydrated, never thirsty.

Lemon Water In The AM

LEMON WATER STSFWarm lemon water in the morning does more than just rehydrate you after a long night’s sleep. The citric acid in lemon juice allows your body to detox while flushing out your kidneys. This provides a huge mental and physical boost in energy since your body isn’t weighed down by toxins. Plus the juice of one lemon has 187 percent of the daily recommended dose of vitamin C to keep you healthy and happy. To unleash these benefits, add the juice from half a freshly squeezed lemon to a glass of warm water.

Cheers!

BLK WATER

SWEATTHESTYLE_BLKWATERIt looks cool to carry around but the colour serves as function more than fashion. What makes Blk water black is the fulvic trace minerals added to the water. It contains electrolytes which you naturally lose while you sweat. Not having enough electrolytes is one of the causes of muscle cramps. Its high level of alkaline helps balance out acidity in your body. I’ll usually drink this after a particularly sweaty workout as a sports drink.
