The KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender: Berry Protein Smoothie

adrianneho_kitchenaid-8Blenders are one of the most important things to have in your kitchen, especially if your goal is to live a healthy lifestyle. Blending food assists in pre-digestion so your body does not have to spend extra energy absorbing the nutrients in your food. The new KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender is a favorite of mine! I use the blender to make smoothies several times a week so I need something that can stand frequent use.adrianneho_kitchenaid-7After my morning workouts a protein smoothie is the first thing on my mind. The blender quickly blends everything from frozen fruits and vegetables and crushes ice! Easy to use, it creates the perfectly blended smoothie with no chunks in sight. Check out one of my favorite recipes below…adrianneho_kitchenaid-9Power Berry Smoothie
Serves 3
Greek yogurt is high in protein and contains probiotics that aid in digestion, which is especially important in the morning. Almond butter contains healthy fats that improve hair, skin, and provide energy, as well as fiber to keep you full longer. Frozen berries contain antioxidants that allow your body to fight off illness. Finally Hemp protein is an easy to digest source of protein that wont affect the taste of your smoothie. Add honey as a natural sweetener that won’t jolt your blood sugar and you’re good to go!

adrianneho_kitchenaid-10Ingredients:

Sweet Potato Smoothie

SweatTheStyle_SweetPotatoSmoothie_Ingredients In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I created a deliciously satisfying smoothie that is packed with energizing and beautifying nutrients to keep you on top of your holiday A-game and look good doing it. The Sweet Potato Smoothie is rich in antioxidants like vitamin C and beta-carotene which your body converts into Vitamin A. These antioxidants protect your skin from harmful free radical damage thereby helping to prevent wrinkles and keep the skin moist and youthful. Plus, eating foods rich beta-carotene makes your skin glow a soft golden hue (no tanning bed required!). This smoothie is also packed with plant-based protein for blood sugar stability and long-lasting energy and omega-3 fatty acids which will keep your bowels in check and inflammation at bay. Enjoy a cup as a mid-afternoon snack or as a post-Thanksgiving meal dessert. It literally tastes like ice cream minus the dairy and refined sugar.

SweatTheStyle_SweetPotatoSmoothieIngredients:
Sweet Potato Puree: 1/2 cup
Coconut Milk: 1/2 cup

Water: 1/4 cup, filtered
Banana: 1 frozen
